Now Hiring: BLM 2016 Summer Conservation Corps Crew
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Carson City District would like to share information about positions on the 2016 summer conservation corps crew. The BLM is inviting tribal members between the ages of 17 and 25 to apply for several 26-week paid AmeriCorps positions. In addition to a $7,000 living stipend provided for each intern’s service, members of the crew would receive a $2,822 education award. From May 23rd to November 17th, selected crew members would work and camp in natural areas of Nevada, improving the local habitat, maintaining recreational areas, and reducing hazardous fuels.

We are pleased to announce that we have recently begun registration for our 67th Annual Summer Program which takes place June 19 through August 14 in Idyllwild, California.
We are also delighted to announce that again this year, we have scholarships available specifically for Native American Youth to attend the program. In addition, we have funds available for Adults who are teachers or community leaders in Native communities. I have attached detailed information and application procedures for your reference. (There are also scholarships for our arts high school, Idyllwild Arts Academy – info attached here.)

The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) is advertising for the BIA TREES Wildland Fire Pathways program, which allows students to gain real, paid work experience and receive tuition support while working toward their degree. The Wildland Fire Pathways provides students with valuable in-the-field training with the goal of preparing students for a career in wildland fire management.
