Tribal Chairman – Brandon Guitierez
Brandon Guitierez was born and raised in Susanville. His childhood was spent on the Lower and Upper Rancheria. He attended school at McKinley Elementary, Diamond View Middle School, and he graduated from Lassen High School in 1998. Brandon enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was shipped off to Boot Camp, and earned the title of U.S. Marine in October 1998. As a Marine, he served in the Infantry with the First Fleet Anti Terrorism Security Team Company. Brandon earned various awards, commendations, and non-combat decorations as a U.S. Marine. He achieved the rank of Sergeant, and was honorably discharged in 2002. In 2003 Brandon enlisted in the United States Navy and served as an F/A-18 Plane Captain with Strike Fighter Squadron 81. In 2005 he was stationed aboard the USS Harry S. Truman CVN-75 as a Personnel Specialist. Brandon was honorably discharged from the Navy in 2007. After returning home to California, Brandon worked for the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians as a Maintenance Worker, Housing Specialist, and TANF Youth Coordinator. In 2010, Brandon returned home and served his community as a Legal Assistant to the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office. In 2012, Brandon began work at the Lassen Indian Health Center where he worked in the Front Office and then as a Contract Health Specialist. Mr. Guitierez is currently the Susanville Indian Rancheria Tribal Chairman, where he hopes to utilize his unique experiences in his leadership capacity.

Terms of Office – The Tribal Business Council elections shall be conducted annually on the first Saturday of November to fill those Tribal Business Council positions which have expired. Currently the terms for the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary/Treasurer expire in 2015; the terms for one representative from District 1 (Tina Richards) and one representative from District 2 (Robert Joseph) expire in 2016; and the terms for one at-large representative from trust land (Tina Sanchez) and one at-large representative from Lassen County (Marvena Harris) expire in 2017. All terms will be for three years. Members of the Tribal Business Council shall remain in office until their successors are duly elected and installed.
TBC meetings are held in the Tribal Resource Center on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 4:00PM.
Health Board meetings are held in the Tribal Resource Center on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 4:00PM.
